Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My husband looks frightened about the recent symptoms that are disturbing him. My husband has been experiencing a high fever, body aches, and a relentless cough for the past two days. He can barely get out of bed; it has been days now. Is this the flu? I am terrified about the potential complications and the severity of influenza, especially type A. Please help me understand what is going on. What can be done to manage these symptoms, and when should we seek medical attention? Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Before coming to any conclusion, kindly answer the following questions.

  1. Is he taking any medicine currently?

  2. Is he allergic to any medicine?

  3. Does he take any medicine for BP (blood pressure), sugar, thyroid, heart diseases, or cholesterol?

  4. Is the cough dry or wet?

  5. Is he a smoker?

I suggest you get tested, including vivid PCR (polymerase chain reaction) and influenza (Influenza is a contagious respiratory infection caused by influenza viruses. Symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, body pains, and weariness).

Until then, kindly follow the following protocols:

  1. Warm water saline gargles.

  2. Steam inhalation.

  3. Avoid cold or sour foods, alcohol, non-vegetarian diet, or smoking.

  4. Take plenty of warm fluids.

  5. Check the vitals at periodic intervals.

  6. Maintain a temperature monitoring chart.

  7. Observe if there is a cough in the day or night.

I suggest you get a chest X-ray and a physical examination by the doctor. You can also take medications, including a course of antibiotics.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them, and take medications with their consent.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
