Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Two weeks ago, I underwent a chemical peel, and my skin became darker. Following my doctor's recommendation, I had a facial laser toning done a few days back. I am getting married in a month and am highly concerned about whether the darkness will reduce in time. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

This type of pigmentation is called post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. To manage this, I suggest you use sunscreen during the day, whatever suits your skin. The application should be made more than five times daily or every two hours, most of it will be gone in one week. If you want to speed up the clearance, I suggest adding topical vitamin C cream twice daily.

I hope this helps.

Please revert in case of further queries.

Thank you.

I suggest you get any over-the-counter (OTC) skin lightening cream. Also, I suggest using products like Glycolic acid, Salicylic acid, Vitamin C, or Arbutin.

I hope this helps.
