How to increase the chances of implantation?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor

I have tried chemical pregnancy four times and failed shortly after implantation. This issue lasts for a year. My current medications are Escitalopram 20 mg daily, fish oil capsule, and prenatal iron tablets. I visit my gynecologist every three months, but he has not suggested any medicines or tests for my issue. Now, I want to know if any medication like Progesterone or Aspirin could increase the chance of success in a chemical pregnancy.

Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Are you taking any hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) injection to induce ovulation? Because it may give false pregnancy results. You seek Progesterone cream or Aspirin, but these cannot be advised without any investigation to detect that you have a progesterone deficiency. I suggest you go for serum progesterone estimation on day 23 of your cycle. If your menstrual cycle is irregular, then do the test ten days after your day of ovulation.

Thanks.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for the reply.

My menstrual cycle is regular, and I also track ovulation and ovulate on time. I am getting pregnant every month with tests that do not get any darker. I start to bleed a few days after my period date. The digital examination and other tests fade away to negative. I have no trouble getting pregnant. I heard of women trying Aspirin or Progesterone cream to overcome this issue. So, I need advice regarding this method.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

As I mentioned earlier, you can test your progesterone levels in blood on day 22 or day 23 of your regular menstrual cycle or 9 to 10 days after ovulation. If the progesterone levels are low then you can take natural Progesterone 200 mg twice daily from day 16 of cycle and continue for three months if you get pregnant otherwise stop if pregnancy test is negative seven days after expected date of period.
