Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have had an enlarged heart and left systolic dysfunction, and I am on calcium channel blockers and Perindo 2 mg. I had wine and experienced bad chest pain. I think I am going into cardiac arrest and currently have tachycardia, with my pulse at 146 bpm. There is no option for medical help in my area, and the tightness feels like someone standing on my chest; would an additional calcium channel blocker relieve my symptoms? Kindly help.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Tablet Perindopril Erbumine 2 mg is good for your left ventricular systolic dysfunction. I would like to know which calcium channel blocker you are using. Some calcium channel blockers are contraindicated in left ventricular systolic dysfunction. What is the exact ejection fraction of the left ventricle? Please send me the ECG (electrocardiogram) report so that I may guide you better.
Also, please answer the following questions. Do you have diabetes, a family history of heart attack, heart failure, or cardiac arrest? How much alcohol do you use (units per day)? Since how long are you using it? Did you ever have a heart attack? I would also suggest you reduce salt intake. Stop alcohol intake. Avoid the usage of tobacco. Do regular exercise.
Kindly revert in case of more queries. Thank you.
