Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have felt severe pain in the chest with palpitations and pain in my left upper back for five to ten minutes for the past few months. After some time, the pain gets relieved but then I feel weak and tired. Sometimes, I feel pain in my arms and temporal veins. Why so?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query.

The symptoms you described, such as severe chest pain, palpitations, pain in the left upper back, weakness, tiredness, and pain in the arms, could potentially be related to various factors. However, it is important to note that chest pain can be a serious symptom, and it is crucial to seek medical attention promptly to rule out any potentially life-threatening conditions.

Given the nature and severity of your symptoms, it is strongly recommended that you consult with a healthcare professional, such as a doctor or cardiologist, who can evaluate your symptoms in detail, perform a physical examination, and order any necessary tests or investigations to determine the underlying cause.

Some possibilities that may cause similar symptoms include:

1. Cardiac issues: Conditions such as angina (chest pain due to reduced blood flow to the heart), heart attack, or arrhythmias (abnormal heart rhythms) could cause chest pain, palpitations, and pain radiating to the back or arms.

2. Musculoskeletal problems: Issues with the muscles, bones, or joints in the chest or back, such as muscle strain, costochondritis (inflammation of the cartilage connecting the ribs to the breastbone), or spinal problems, may cause pain that radiates to the chest or back.

3. Anxiety and panic attacks: Intense anxiety or panic attacks can produce symptoms similar to those you described, including chest pain, palpitations, and sensations of weakness or fatigue.

4. Other potential causes: Other conditions could potentially cause similar symptoms, including respiratory problems, gastrointestinal issues (such as acid reflux or gallbladder problems), or inflammation of the blood vessels.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
