Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My 3-year-old baby weighing 14 kilograms currently has chicken pox with ffull body blisters, including the mouth and anal area for three days, and a fever of 102 degrees Fahrenheit. What is the treatment for this? Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

I suggest you start the child on the following medications:

1. If the temperature is 100 degrees Fahrenheit or more, syrup Ibugesic plus (Ibuprofen and Paracetamol) 5 mL if required (SOS) six to eight hourly.

2. If the temperature is 102 degrees Fahrenheit or more, you can give syrup Ibugesic Plus 5 mL if required (SOS) four to six hourly.

3.If the temperature stays above 100 degrees Fahrenheit for more than three days or crosses 103 degrees Fahrenheit. It is advisable to get evaluated physically by a pediatrician with possible blood investigations based on physical examination.

4. You can give syrup Augmentin ES (Amoxicillin 600 mg/5 mL and Clavulanic acid 42.9mg/5mL) 3.5 mL twice for five days (to be kept in the fridge).

5. Give syrup Nutrolin-B (niacinamide and lactic acid bacilli) 5 mL once for five days (to be kept in the fridge).

6. T-bact (Mupirocin 2 %) ointment to be applied to the blisters.

I hope this helps.
