How to correct a tooth fracture limited to enamel?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

A relatively large approximately 2 x2 x 2 mm section of my molar randomly chipped off while I was eating today. There is no pain or sensitivity that I have noticed. However, it is a holiday weekend, so most dental offices are closed. Do I need to find emergency dental care, or can I wait until next week as long as it stays painless?

Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The absence of pain or sensitivity indicates enamel fracture, so you have the advantage of pulp and dentinal protection. I suggest you get it restored, but yes, there is no urgency. You have at least one to two months for the treatment.

Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further.

Thank you.
