Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a man in my late 30s, and I have been having a choking sensation as though something is stuck in my chest for the past two years. Although it has not been constant at irregular intervals, it gives me a lot of concerns because I feel quite uncomfortable. I started having that sensation after I was diagnosed with hepatitis B two years ago. Are there any connections between the two? And what should I do for relief? Currently, I am taking Dynamic Liv Forte tablets and Nutri - F capsules. Kindly suggest.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
I am very sorry about your medical condition. Do not worry; I am here to take care of you. Regarding your symptoms, I do not think there is a connection between hepatitis B and chest pain except when the hepatitis B virus causes liver cancer to spread to the chest.
So I believe what may be responsible for such choking may be knocking off the aorta compressing your throat, or a deposited foreign body. So I would like you to go for a chest x-ray and reply to me with the result. Meanwhile, please take the following: syrup Gaviscon (Sodium Alginate and Sodium Bicarbonate) 20ml twice daily for one week. If your symptoms persist, schedule another appointment for a follow-up consultation.
I hope you find this information helpful.
Thank you.
