Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 45-year-old lady dealing with a cholesterol rollercoaster, and my doctor suggested Leqvio. How does it work, and are there any side effects to watch out for?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query.

Yes actually, this medicine Leqvio (Inclisiran) is used to treat high levels of cholesterol and it comes in injectable forms. So if your cholesterol level is constantly high, then this medicine can be used. Cholesterol can be treated by medication and lifestyle modifications so you have to change your diet and do regular exercise to bring down your cholesterol levels. If it still does not improve then the medication is given throughout the life. A frequent check-up is done to check levels of cholesterol and then the medicine can be changed accordingly.

Leqvio is an injectable medicine and only two to three doses a year are sufficient to lower the cholesterol levels.

Hope it helps.

Thank you.
