What is the treatment for a child with a blocked nose, cough, and fever?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My child is suffering from a blocked nose, cough, and fever. The fever usually comes along with seizures. He is under medication for these symptoms.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to Icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

I suggest you to give Beclomethasone (steroid) along with Salbutamol (selective beta2-adrenergic receptor agonist)(28.57 oz and 57.14 oz) per unit dose vial at 12 hours interval in a nebulizer. Also, discontinue all the antibiotics and use a normal saline spray four to five times daily in both nostrils. In addition, I suggest you to give the tablet Paracetamol (antipyretic) if he has a high fever and keep him well hydrated.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them and take the medications with their consent.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.
