Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I need quick information regarding my current issue. I had taken the first dose of the Covishield vaccine at a government center. I had a feverish kind of feeling for one and a half days and got well by now. But I started to have constipation since then. The number of bowel movements has been reduced to one time. Before, I used to have two to three bowel movements per day.
I had piles and got laser operation one and a half years ago and got recovered completely one year back. Now due to this constipation problem post-Covishield vaccination, I noticed a little bit of blood in my stool today. And also, my bowel movements are complete. And I also have had a lot of flatulence lately.
Will Covishield vaccination have constipation side effects? Can I have Softovac powder to reduce my constipation problem? I would like to know if my pile's problem has reoccured? Kindly give your advice on this issue.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
This problem is not at all linked to Covishield. I congratulate you on getting an opportunity to get a coronavirus vaccination. You are probably suffering from hemorrhoids, and that is the reason behind your constipation as well as getting blood in the stool.
I suggest the following in such a case scenario:

Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thank you for the reply,
I will follow the prescribed medication for piles.
I have a very irrational question. Are these government-driven covid vaccination centers follow all the hygienic standards during the vaccination drive?
I needed to know about this because when I mentioned to my friend that I got covid vaccination from a government center he said there are chances of getting HIV and other infections from these drives as the crowd will be and nurses might reuse the needles in a hurry to cover the crowd and due to pressure to cover everyone.
Because when I went for vaccination it got over in two minutes so I was thinking if the nurses really using new syringes every time. I did not get a chance to ask the nurse if that syringe is a new one.
Sorry to ask this question but this has been bothering me. Kindly clarify.
Hi,
Welcome back to licniq.com.
Please do not think that anyone will reuse syringes in today's world. I do not think anyone would save on a syringe.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
