Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I suffer from gastric problems most of the time. I have a problem in my rectum, so I use my finger to push down my stool to defecate and feel better, but now I feel flatulent whenever I do that. Please guide me if it is harmful to insert my finger into the anus and remove stools using my finger?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Pushing your finger into the anal area for clearing stools suggests constipation. To prevent it,

1)You will have to modify your diet by avoiding junk foods and consuming healthy food such as green leafy vegetables and fruits.

2) I suggest taking tablet Acotiamide (acetylcholine) 100 mg, tablet Prucalopride (succinate) 1 mg, and Isabgol husk (dietary fiber) twice daily to increase gut mobility.

Once you incorporate these into your lifestyle, you will notice improvement within a week and will not have to insert a finger in the anal region to defecate.

I hope this helps.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
