Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have an 11-year-old with a suspected inflamed Intestine and possible celiac disease. The child has pain in the lower abdominal area. Consuming dairy products causes the stomach pains to get worse. The prescribed medicines are Auroplan Plus, Omeprazole, and Paraffin oil. Blood work, an X-ray, an ultrasound, and a CT scan were all done. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello doctor,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read the query, and I can understand your concern.

As per the reports (attachment removed to protect the patient’s identity), there is no evidence of celiac disease. Tissue transglutaminase (TTG) IgM (Immunoglobulin M) levels, IgA levels, and TTG IgA levels are also performed concurrently for comparison. Because this child's TTG IgA levels are normal, it is unlikely to have celiac disease. Additionally, because the inflammatory markers are normal, the diagnosis of an inflamed gut is questionable. However, as per history, the diagnosis of constipation may be possible. To confirm this, I suggest you take an X-ray of the abdomen while standing upright. Fecal loading of the intestine in X-ray will indicate constipation. If it is constipation, I advise taking syrup Duphalac 10 ml (Lactulose) three times daily for ten days while drinking a lot of water. If the kid complains of stomach pain, administer 6 ml of the syrup Cyclopam (Dicyclomine and Simethicone) on an SOS basis (if necessary). Consult a specialist doctor, talk to them, and then take the medication. Reduce intake of bread and bread products, milk, chocolates, and chips and increase water intake for long-term benefits to constipation.

I hope this will help you.

Thank you.
