Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I took birth control pills for five months, and my period became regular, but before that, it was irregular. Now I have stopped, and it is been a month. Are there any symptoms I should expect a month after stopping birth control pills? I stopped taking it three days after starting a new batch of 21-day pills. After a week, I got my period again, which was weird, and now I have not had my period for a week. Instead, I have been having brown clots as discharge once a day.

Hi,

I am delighted you turned to icliniq.com with your medical-related questions.

I can certainly relate to your worries, and I will do my best to assist.

Regarding your symptoms of irregular menses, you have the following diagnosis: premature ovarian failure. I suggest you take the following:

  1. Tablet Metronidazole 400 mg orally.
  2. Capsule Co-Amoxiclav (a combination of Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid) 500 mg orally twice a day.
  3. Tablet Medroxyprogesterone 10 mg orally once a day.

Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with them, and take the medicines with their consent. If your symptoms persist, schedule another appointment for follow-up via chat, phone, or video consultation.

Thank you.

I hope you had a pleasant experience with icliniq.

I will always be available for you in case you have any queries.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
