Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am unmarried, and I had my period a month ago. After ten days, I had sex, but the condom got torn in a bad way, and he ejaculated inside me. So I took I-pill within an hour or two. I consulted a doctor, and he asked me to take Regestrone 5 mg for three days. Also, after a few days again, I had protected sex four times. I had very less bleeding four days later, and the next day also there was less bleeding. The same continued for the following two days. The ratio was one-day bleeding during normal was greater than four-day bleeding. I was having pain in my lower back, in my abdomen, and also in my lower abdomen at that time. After that, there were no periods. After the bleeding ended, I did UPT it was negative. Do I need to worry?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

You did the right thing by taking I-pill (Levonorgestrel). Regestrone (Norethisterone) was not needed. You had protected sex in the first week of last month, so the chance of pregnancy is nil there. You had less bleeding in that month due to the lingering effects of I-pill and Regestrone, particularly Regestrone. You need not worry about pregnancy. However, I would suggest you repeat UPT (urine pregnancy test), and it will come negative. After that, wait for your period, which may come at any time. If you still have pain, then a TVS (transvaginal ultrasound) ultrasound test is suggested.

Hope this helps.

Regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you so much. I am totally relaxed now and tension free.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You are welcome.

Revert in case of queries.

Kind regards.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the reply,

Today, I started bleeding, so is it still necessary to take a UPT (urine pregnancy test)? Also, my stomach is very upset, and I have severe pain in my legs. I am feeling restless and dizzy. Can you please suggest some medications?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. You do not need to do a UPT. You can take one lactic acid bacillus capsule daily for five to six days. Also, take an oral rehydration solution. If things do not improve, please consult with a local physician.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor for the reply,

There was no bleeding on the second and third nights. On the third and fourth days, the bleeding is very minimal. What could be the reason behind it, and do I need to worry?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It is due to the lingering effects of the emergency contraceptive pill and Norethisterone, which is a very common issue.

I hope your queries are resolved, and any further queries are welcome. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
