Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I got married six years ago. I conceived 11 months after my marriage. However, I had a miscarriage. Since then, my periods have been irregular. My doctor suggested I use the tablet Dronis. I have read on the internet that the tablet Dronis stops ovulation. I do not have any thyroid complaints or PCOS. I want to conceive. Should I discontinue the tablets?
Kindly suggest.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Tablet Dronis (Ethinyl Estradiol and Drospirenone) is an oral contraceptive pill that inhibits ovulation. It is also given for pain management during menstruation, premenstrual syndrome, and menstrual irregularities. I suggest you stop taking the tablet if you plan to conceive. (Consult a specialist doctor, talk to him or her, and stop the medicine with their consent).
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
