How can I ease my cough that does not respond to treatment?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been suffering from cough for the past four days. I am on Valsartan and Amlodipine, but there were no beneficial effects seen.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I reviewed your query. I want to know your reason for taking Valsartan (angiotensin II receptor blockers) and Amlodipine (calcium channel blocker). Do you have hypertension?

I suggest you to follow a few instructions mentioned below.

  1. Take syrup Acefyl DM (Acefylline Piperazine and Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride) two tablespoons thrice daily.
  2. Take tablet Ebastine (non-sedating antihistamine) 10 mg once daily at night.
  3. Take throat lozenges.

Kindly consult your primary physician to adjust your drug regime.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.
