Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Since last Friday, I have severe fever and body pain. I took tablet Paracetamol 650 mg one time after that, I got relief now I have headache and fever coming back, and my mouth is also dry, but I have taste and smell sensation.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Apart from fever and body pain, do you have cough and breathlessness? Please revert immediately.

You could at least get the following tests immediately and revert.

1) RT-PCR (reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) or Antigen test for SARS-CoV-2 (Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus) and Swine flu.

2) Blood tests:

Complete blood count (CBC), ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate), HbA1c (glycated hemoglobin), and RBS (random blood sugar).

Tests indicative of SARS-CoV-2 infection like C-reactive protein (CRP), IL-6 (Interleukin-6), D-dimer, Ferritin, Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH),

Other disease blood tests like malarial, typhoid, paratyphoid, brucellosis, proteus, typhus antigen tests.

After giving blood samples for testing, I suggest the following:

  • Tablet Ivermectin 12 mg one tablet once daily for five days.
  • Capsule Cholecalciferol 60000 IU one capsule once a week for six weeks.
  • Tablet Mefenamic acid 250 mg one tablet if fever is greater than 99.50F, and does not reduce with tablet Paracetamol.
  • Revert after Swab, blood tests, at the earliest.

The Probable causes

SARSCo-V-2 infection.

Differential diagnosis

Dengue.

Typhoid or Salmonellosis.

Rare- Swine flu, Brucellosis, Typhus, Proteus, Malaria infections.

Probable diagnosis

SARS-CoV-2 infection (COVID).

Preventive measures

Steam inhalation. Warm water gargles.

Regarding follow up

After test reports.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
