Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
My brother is COVID-19 positive, and the test result was out today. He is 26 years old. His height is 5 feet 8 inches, and his weight is 151 pounds. He has symptoms of body ache and headache for four days. After a positive report, he is under self-isolation. So as the next step, what should I do regarding his medication? Should I give all the medicines in the COVID-19 kit, or some symptomatic medicine should be given at this stage? He took Nimesulide and Hydrochloric Acid for body ache. Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I studied your problem carefully. Nimesulide is a banned drug. May I know why you are using Hydrochloric Acid? Or is it a typographical error? Use medicines as per the doctor's suggestion. Self-medication can create more side effects than curing the disease. I suggest you the following, Gargle with warm salt water regularly at night for ten days, drinking adequate water four pints daily, eat a balanced diet. Include more boiled vegetables, fruits, and one boiled egg daily, tablet Dolo 650 mg (Paracetamol) morning and night for three days after food, D-Rise granules 60000 IU (Vitamin D3) two sachets, one sachet once a week, Becosules Z (B-Complex Forte with Vitamin C and Zinc) one tablet in the afternoon for ten days, measure oxygen saturation with a pulse oximeter. Note the readings three to four times daily. Depending on the symptoms and complaints, I will suggest further necessary medications. Feel free to contact me for further assistance. Thank you.
