Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My wife is 33 years old. She has had a fever for the last two days. She has body pain and headache. She also vomited three times yesterday. She has been given tablet Paracetamol 650 mg every six-hour. We have also done an RT-PCR test. But the report has not come. However, she has a cough and cold. Now the temperature is 99.5 degrees. She was given the last dose of Paracetamol at 11 PM yesterday. Can she be given an antibiotic? Please suggest.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Your wife is most likely suffering from COVID. I suggest the following:

1) Tablet Azithromycin 500 mg once a day for five days.

2) Tablet Medrol (Methylprednisolone) 8 mg twice daily for three days.

3) Inhaler Foracort 200 (Formoterol and Budesonide) 2 puff twice daily for seven days.

4) Tablet Dazit M (Desloratadine and Montelukast) one at night.

5) Tablet Nicip (Nimesulide and Paracetamol) 100 mg twice daily for three days.

6) Tablet Enzoflam (Diclofenac, Paracetamol, and Serratiopeptidase) twice daily for three days.

Kindly share the RT-PCR report as soon as it is available. Apart from this, keep monitoring oxygen saturation. If it falls below 96%, kindly seek immediate medical attention. Keep her isolated in a separate room for the next seven days. If anyone else is facing any symptoms in the family, kindly isolate them.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
