Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have a basic query on COVID-19. Will I still catch COVID-19 if I do not come across a COVID-19 positive person and stay home as much as possible? Also, if I have to pick up emergency items outside and wear a mask and maintain a six-foot distance in an open area, can I still get infected? If I have to take public transportation for the vaccination and travel with a mask and face guard, will that be safe?
Please answer. Thanks.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Regarding your first query, it is unlikely for you to catch COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) infection if you stay at home and if no one is positive at home or no one positive visits your house. Regarding the second query, it is unlikely if you take all the precautions. Still, you can get the infection as a mask may not be cent percent effective due to some common carelessness like touching the outer surface of the mask. But the possibility is low. So go out as little as possible, bring all items in one go, and take all precautions. Regarding the third query, the answer is the same, the possibility of catching an infection is less, and it is not safe to travel in public transportations.
