Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had sex with my boyfriend yesterday. I broke my hymen months before having intercourse with my boyfriend. I already had a broken hymen. He did not cum inside of me throughout our intercourse. Furthermore, we did not use condoms. However, I have been experiencing severe abdominal pains since last night, shortly after intercourse, particularly on the left side. Even now, on the following night, I still get cramps whether I sit or even walk. It hurts similar to cramps. What is going on with me? He did not cum inside of me. Thus, I can not be pregnant or anything. Also, it was our first experience having sex. It was the first time I had sex too. It hurts a lot.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I just read your query. I can understand your concern.

Let me first clarify a few things. Hymen has no role in stopping semen or sperm from entering the vagina and reaching the egg. Even if the precum, pre-seminal fluid, or semen comes in contact with the genitals or the thighs, the sperm can get attracted to the egg, chemically. It cannot be pregnancy, not because he did not enter the vagina, but because the egg and sperm (if they had to fuse) will fuse in a tube, and only after four to five days the embryo reaches the uterus. So you will get pain long after this. Possible causes of pain are:

If during sex, he used his fingers or any sex toy or any foreign body into the vagina. This can cause infection, which can ascend into the vagina. You will need a course of antibiotics. You can take a tablet of Fluconazole 150 mg, one tablet after lunch, a tablet of Azithromycin 1 g, one tablet one hour before the meal, and a tablet of Secnidazole forte two tablets after dinner. Abnormal position taken during sex, the muscle cramps would have been missed during the excitement of sex, but later the muscles of the abdomen and lower back will hurt. It can be confirmed if you have pain only when moving any particular part of your body and legs. Have a good muscle relaxant like Diclofenac, Paracetamol, and Chlorzoxazone. once or twice a day, till the pain subsides. It may be incidental gastroenteritis, as pain is on the left side. If he uses his finger in the vagina, the traction and trauma to the vagina cause the release of Prostaglandin, which causes pain. In that case, you can take Paracetamol 500 mg, Ketrolac 20 mg, or Ibuprofen 400 mg. This will inhibit the prostaglandin. Whatever the cause is, have an antispasmodics tablet or injections two to three times a day, like Cyclopam 20 mg, Buscopan 10 mg, Drotin 40 mg, or Hyocimax 20 mg.

I hope I have answered your questions.

Revert in case of more queries.

Thank you.
