Which is the best crown after RCT for MRI patients?

Hi doctor,

I suffer from seizures and had RCT for my top right molar. I have not placed a crown for the molar because I am unsure which crown will be best for me. Every six to nine months, I must undergo an MRI. My dentist told me I could only use a very expensive zirconium crown. After consulting another dentist, he told me I could use any crown except metal.

Please help me determine which crown is best suited for me.

Unfortunately, there are few options besides metal-free crowns, such as zirconium and all-ceramic crowns. Zirconia is the best material for your situation because it can withstand molar forces, whereas all-ceramic crowns can only be used on the front teeth with little biting force.

However, if you need some time to save up for the zirconium crown, you can opt for temporary resin crowns (PMMA). These semi-permanent crowns can only last a few months because resin crowns cannot withstand molar forces for extended periods. PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) crowns are safe for MRI (magnetic resonance imaging).
