Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I do not know what the problem is with me. I worked, and then I left my job and started preparing for some exams. Currently, I am living with my parents. There is a boy, and I met him three years back. I fell in love, and he was in a relationship with someone. We confessed a few months ago, and he said he loved me and everything was so perfect. And suddenly one day he told me his ex-girlfriend was back and he wanted to be with her. I told him it was fine and let him go. But I guess it was not fine with me. At first, I was not able to sleep for so many nights. In between, I had an important exam that went horribly. Now the whole day, I am feeling sleepy. I am unemployed and do not have any friends here. The man I loved threw me out of his life. I do not know what to do. All day I keep on thinking about it. It is getting worse and worse. Please help me.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Sometimes you do not have control over the situations and what others do, but what really matters is how you cope with it. The following suggestions can help you:

  • Meditation daily for at least half an hour in the morning helps you relax and eases your anxiety.
  • Share your feelings with family and close friends, as sharing helps a lot. If that is not feasible, log down your thoughts in a diary uncensored and never read them again.
  • Give at least one hour daily for your hobbies to vent out daily stress.
  • Try to focus on your life goals.
  • You can consult a clinical psychologist or a counselor in person for help.
  • Hope this has addressed your concern.

    Kind regards.
