Hello doctor,
I have watched a video where a person is held captive in prison. The prisoner needs to relieve himself and asks the guard whether he can use the restroom. The guard tells the prisoner to wait for five minutes. The video shows that the prisoner falls asleep almost right after the guard tells the prisoner to wait. He also drank epsom salt to flush his bowels before arriving at the facility. My question is, can someone fall asleep when they have an urge to urinate within three minutes?

Thank you for the question on icliniq. There is no relation between urinating and sleep. Once, a 10-year-old patient of mine fell asleep immediately after releasing his bladder, as he had urinary retention for 24 hours and could not sleep due to pain.

Epson salt and grapefruit combination can cause increased gut motility and a sensation to defecate, but it is not necessarily strong. Therefore he would have slept. Otherwise, there will be pain when there is a strong urge to urinate, and he could not have slept.
