Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I have missed my periods for four days and last 20 days I have taken Ovares plus tablet. After two days, I took the test and the test was negative.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
How are you doing?
Ovares plus is Dehydroepiandrosterone Sulphate with Melatonin. Medical companies claim it has wonders, but trust me it is an innocent medicine with no much effect or side effect. The doctors advice that it increases the number of active eggs from ovaries. But in my own experience, eggs are God given in a specific number, no one can increase it. Unfortunately, you have not mentioned your age. Good age for lady to conceive is 19 to 35 years. After this, eggs reduce in health and number, that is when doctors claim this medicine will help. I mean to say whether you take Ovares plus or not nothing will change the periods. It is costly too.
About your periods, you can wait for a maximum of seven days after periods, check your urine pregnancy, if still negative, have any of the oral combined contraceptive pills (Novelone or Dear 21 or Duoluton-L or Ovarel -G or Intimacy plus 3 ) twice a day for 10 days, throw away the 21st tablet. You will get periods within 10 days of stopping the tablet. Do not worry about any side effect. These hormones are the same produced by the body. If not checked have thyroid profile and serum prolactin checked early morning, empty stomach. These hormones can interfere with normal ovulation. If it is the doubt that you have adequate eggs in ovaries, check serum AMH (anti-mullerian hormone).
