Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My last period ended in the second week of last month. Seven days after my period, I had intercourse and immediately took the emergency tablet. My menstruation resumed six days after intercourse. After intercourse, I experienced some hazy fluid being discharged before the onset of menstruation. This time, my period lasted just 24 to 26 hours. And this month, I am due for my period, but my menstruation has yet to arrive.Today I am experiencing slight dizziness. I occasionally experience goosebumps in my vagina and navel. Is it possible that I am pregnant?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

According to what you mentioned, the bleeding you had at the end of last month was largely due to withdrawal symptoms, which generally occur after taking an emergency contraceptive pill. Emergency contraceptives sometimes interfere with menstruation. Therefore, you should expect your period in the last week of this month. I also suggest you not be concerned since you took the emergency contraceptive pill within 72 hours after unprotected intercourse. Still, however, if you do not get your period by the end of this month, I recommend you conduct a urine pregnancy test with a morning sample.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
