Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had unprotected sex with my girlfriend a few days back. She took an I-pill after two days. The next day she got her period. But now, it is the second month after having sex and she is still not getting her periods. So what could be the reason for that? Is there a chance of pregnancy?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query.

Since she has taken an emergency contraceptive pill within 72 hours of intercourse then there is no chance of pregnancy. The delay could be because of hormonal changes due to the I-pill she has taken. However, if you have a doubt then get a urine pregnancy test done with early morning urine to ensure that she is not pregnant.

Do get back to me with reports so that I can guide you further.

Hope it helps.

Thanks and regards.
