Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had unprotected intercourse, following which I took an emergency contraceptive pill. Subsequently, intercourse continued for the next three days, but withdrawal was utilized as a contraceptive method. I experienced bleeding for approximately five or six days following this. Could this be implantation bleeding? The flow was within the normal range. Presently, my menstrual period is delayed, and I am experiencing bloating and abdominal cramps. Is pregnancy a possibility? Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understood your concern.

The bleeding you experienced is withdrawal bleeding, typically occurring after taking the emergency contraceptive pill, and it is considered normal. However, it might disrupt your menstrual cycle. It is advisable to wait for one more week; during this time frame, you should expect your menstrual period to occur. I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for replying.

What about feeling bloated for the past few days? I have also experienced a bit of nausea while eating. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understood your concern.

This could be a premenstrual symptom as well. Nausea does not always indicate pregnancy. I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up if you have more doubts.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
