Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I did not get my period for the last month and my cycle usually lasts for 35 days. Based on my last period, it was expected to come on first week of this month. I took the tablet Postinor-2 after having sex last month. Recently, I noticed that my urine smelled like onions, but this symptom has stopped. Instead, I have been experiencing white, thick discharge with little to no smell. I went to the hospital and was given a Klovinal pessary and a Doxycycline tablet, which I have been using. Currently, I have two more Klovinal pessaries left. However, this afternoon, I noticed a reddish, brownish, or pinkish discharge and also have sore throat infection since night. I still have not got my period, and I cannot determine what the discharge smells like.
I took a malaria test and a pregnancy test using a strip, both of which came back negative. The healthcare provider recommended that I do an HVS (high vaginal swab) test, but I could not afford it.
Since my symptoms were similar to those of pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), my healthcare provider prescribed drugs to treat the symptoms.
Also in the past I have been treated for PID (twice). I took Augulab, Doxycycline, and Flagyl medication, along with one pessary (I cannot recall the name, but it was not Klovinal).
I am not sure what to do next.
Could you please offer some guidance?
Thank you.

Sometimes periods can be delayed by a week or two due to stress or illness.
If your period has not arrived two weeks after its due date, then you may want to take another urine pregnancy test for a clearer result.
I hope this information is helpful.
Feel free to ask if you have any further questions.
Thank you.
