What is the reason for the itchy rash on my arms, hands, fingers, face, and abdomen?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 28-year-old male. Since friday morning I have suffered with some type of itchy rash on both of my arms, hands, fingers, face, and a small section of my abdomen. Currently, I am on Metoprolol, Prozac, and Protonix. In addition, I just finished a course on Amoxicillin last week for a sinus infection.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It looks like allergic dermatitis (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). Is it only on exposed areas? Do you have any other family members with similar issues? If scabies, it will be on the forearms and the sites on the body which are in contact with animals and hence it is unlikely to be scabies. It is more looking like photodermatitis.

Treatment plan

I suggest, Levocetirizine 5 mg tablet daily night for five days. Momate F (Mometasone Furoate plus Fusidic Acid) cream for local application twice daily for five days.

Regarding follow up

If the condition is not improved even after five days, I suggest direct physical consultation.
