Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been going to the gym lately, and for the past three days, I have been experiencing itchy patches under my breasts and groin area. It is scaly, dry, brown, and smooth to the touch. I have been using antifungal soap, but it does not help. Kindly suggest proper treatment.

Thank you.

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

Depending on the symptoms mentioned by you, it can be a superficial fungal infection due to dermatophytes. I would like to know the answers to a few questions.

  1. Is there any history of fever, or atopy?
  2. Do you have excess sweating?
  3. Have you scratched and rubbed the lesions?
  4. Are the lesions oozing?
  5. Are your garments occlusive and tight?
  6. Provide details of previous treatments.

Kindly answer these questions for further treatment details.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply.

I have suffered from psoriasis for which I was prescribed a steroid cream previously, and I excessively sweat when exercising. There is neither oozing nor fever, but I wear tight garments for the gym. Kindly suggest.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

It can be atopic eczema and not psoriasis. I suggest you follow the below mentioned instructions.

  1. Apply Miconazole cream (Benzoic acid) twice daily for six weeks. Apply it 0.39 inches beyond the margins from outwards to inwards.
  2. Apply Dersil AF body wash (Ketoconazole) 20 minutes before going to bath for 20 days.
  3. Apply Clotrimazole dusting powder immediately after bath for two months on flexural sites and areas of sweating.
  4. Use Ketoconazole soap for bath for two months.
  5. Avoid activities that cause sweating.
  6. Wear loose and comfortable clothes.
  7. Avoid known triggers.
  8. Avoid the use of harsh soaps.
  9. Avoid fragrance-containing cosmetics.

I hope this information will help you.

Thank you.
