Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 56 years old, and my height is 4 feet 11 inches. I have had a ringworm infection for six weeks. I have used cream Terbinafine and cream Daktacort; however, they are not helping. Curretly, I use tablet Sertraline 50 mg. Also, I have a history of contact dermatitis. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com

I understand your concern. Did you apply medications as self-treatment, or were they prescribed by a doctor? Also, for how long have you used the creams? Please share at least two pictures taken at different distances so that it is clearly visible and can be evaluated properly. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply. I have attached the files. Also, the creams have been prescribed by my doctor. They have a two-week course. I have used them for a week.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have reviewed the reports (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). I suggest you stop using the cream Daktofort as it can spread the infection instead of reducing it. Also, stop using the cream Terbinafine. It would help if you also used separate soap and towels, as the condition can spread to others. I suggest the below treatment plan. Lotion Amorolfine to be applied locally twice daily. It can be applied 2 cm beyond the affected area and continued up to a month after it heals. Tablet Cetirizine 5 mg, once daily at bedtime for ten days. Consult a specialist doctor, talk to him or her, and start the medicines with their consent. Kindly follow up after a week. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
