Patient's Query

Hello,

My daughter is 27 years old and weighs 88 pounds. She is currently in a hospital. She has had diabetes since she was 21. Her health has deteriorated in the last six months. A few months back, she was hospitalized for 23 days. They did an endoscopy, colonoscopy, MRI, blood work, and CT scan. She has had diarrhea for more than five months. They have ruled it all out. For pancreatic cancer and microscopic lymphocytic colitis, they did a liver biopsy. Another doctor suggested the possibility of celiac artery compression syndrome. Can you please explain that?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

I have found out that your daughter has diabetes, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Diabetes is not so much a worrying disease. But if it is not in control or she has ketoacidosis, it may cause abdominal pain. Usually, conditions like coeliac compression artery syndrome are rare. If you want to rule it out with the exact cause, wait for the investigation reports. Try to control her sugar levels and then take antibiotics for enterocolitis.

Thank you.
