Hi doctor,
I have been dealing with many heart-related symptoms for a long time, primarily a pressure like severe crushing chest discomfort, tightness, suffocation spread around the chest, throat, left arm, left hand with fingers accompanied with fatigue, dizziness, palpitations, and very low exercise tolerance. These are there for two years. The symptoms have become worse and this year accompanied by breathlessness and extreme fatigue. Any little effort or mild emotion like watching an exciting movie, happiness brings discomfort right now; even taking ten steps or making a tea for myself in the kitchen makes me feel so tired and short of breath that I need to sit and rest. I have had five to six echoes in the past two and a half years. There is one particular thing which is mentioned in some and not in others. - Diastolic dysfunction, grade 1. Precisely, four reports show normal function while three show these findings. I was randomly reading my latest echo report when I saw calculations for stroke volume, EDV, ESV. I researched normal values and found that all of them were very low (Sv only 40 ml compared to 70 ml normal). Also, compared to my five years back report, the size of the chambers and IVSd has increased too much. I am concerned about these findings as I have breathlessness, extreme fatigue and want to clear if these findings contribute to that? Around two years back, I am fed up with these pains I went to a heart center. I told them all about my complaints. They advised CT coronary angio from a particular lab. The test was done, reports generated and handed to the doctor. He said all are fine and to be relaxed. Now again, I got pain and showed the report to another doctor who said the report is not right as they did scan at a very high heart rate. I showed one more doctor who said the same and told me to repeat the test. Now very confused about what to do? It is an expensive radiation exposure test. Can you tell me whether high HR makes this test useless? I am right now advised stress echo or CT angio repeat. What to do? Stress echo I am scared of how I will walk on a treadmill when I cannot normally walk ten steps. Also, please check my Holter monitor report. Now I was told it is normal but online consultation done and was told that my RR interval prolonged implies sinus arrest or pause. By not providing a strip for that event doctor has to give incomplete reports. What does this all mean? I am very confused. My queries are very long, and you may think I am an anxious patient; trust me, I am a very positive person, but these severe symptoms are conflicting opinions on the same reports by doctors, which has made my life hell.
