Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a nurse and have been on Valium for 30 years and for the last two years l have been reducing the intake. l do not think the health professionals realize how bad it is. I want to go on an infusion with a drug called Flumazenil and I cannot find anyone that l can identify with. l am 51 years old and weigh 100 kg, and l am on Baclofen, Pregabalin, and Gabitrtil. I have reduced Valium from 15 mg to 4 mg. I want a second opinion. Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query and understand your concern.

Valium if continued for so long and stopped suddenly has its withdrawal with acute episodes of vomiting, nausea, headache, and then a little prolonged patch of anxiety neurosis. You are taking Baclofen and Pregabalin and Gabitril to counteract those symptoms. You have reduced Valium to 25 % so continue with the same dosage for 2 to 3 weeks and then stop Valium completely. However, keep taking the other medicines for another 2 weeks.

Hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
