Is there any remedy for my father’s bulging disk?

Hello doctor,

My father is 50 plus in age. He has had the bulging disk for the last one and half years. He tried acupressure, acupuncture, and physiotherapy, but the condition was the same. Is there any remedy for this?

I need to see either your father's MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan or the X-ray report. Till then, ask him to take the following precautions such as, avoid lifting heavy weights, avoid arching the back, instead, bend the knees to pick up something from the floor, avoid sitting for long hours, avoid two-wheeler rides, improve your posture while sitting, try to get up from your chair every 20 minutes, take a quick walk around and then continue working, always sit on a chair with back support, do not get up suddenly from a sleeping position, rather, turn the side and then get up, take bed rest if severe pain occurs, and do hot fomentation locally over the affected area.at least twice daily.
