Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
For the past five months, I have been suffering from back pain. One morning, I woke up with pain in my back and could not move. I had to rest for a week and used medications for one and a half months. I was feeling better when I took the medicines. Also, I am doing regular exercises like mckenzie, pelvic tilt, bridging, knee to chest, and cat camel since the last three months. However, the pain and stiffness have not subsided.
Kindly help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern and would be happy to help.
I have gone through your query and the attached files in detail (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). You are having a lumbar disc problem with nerve impingement.
There are two treatment modalities:
1. Surgical decompression.
2. Nonsurgical treatments like lumbar traction, laser, ultrasound, or short wave diathermy.
It is better to avoid surgery due to a higher risk of complications. I hope this helps.
Thank you.

Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
Physiotherapy needs to be taken for at least 15 days.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Is the condition curable, or will it become permanent without surgery? Also, kindly suggest some exercises and precautions.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
The condition is curable without surgery. However, I suggest you avoid lifting heavy weights, traveling on a two-wheeler, and bending forward. Also, please do not do exercises as they aggravate the symptoms.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
Kindly suggest the type of physiotherapy treatment and the preventive measures and diet I can follow at home.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I suggest lumbar traction, laser therapy, and ultrasound with short wave diathermy. There is no specific diet plan required for these symptoms.
I hope this helps.
Thank you.
