Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have got some rashes under my lip due to dryness. Both sides of my lip are cut. My chin area was itching at first, but now there is a pus-like liquid coming out. My upper and lower lip is dry, and there is skin peeling. I have had this problem before, but it was not as bad as it is now. I used to apply Vaseline. Can you please suggest any medication or cream? Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I would suggest the following. Apply Mupirocin ointment (T-Bact cream) twice daily for 10 days. Take Tablet Ciprofloxacin 500 mg once a day after food for 5 days. Apply Cetaphil cream twice daily for 10 days. Please attach the clinical pictures so that I can assess the lesion and guide you further. Regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply. Can you suggest an alternative medicine for Ciprofloxacin? Is it fine to take Cipro?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

As an alternative, you can take tablet Roxid (Roxithromycin + Ambroxol) 150 mg twice daily in the morning and night after food for 5 days. Avoid scratching and rubbing the lesions as it may cause secondary bacterial infection and deep permanent scars. Keep the area clean and dry and avoid occlusion or friction. Further, I suggest you use Azac (Azelaic acid) soap for bathing at least for one month. Moisturize your skin daily. Take Tablet Limcee (Vitamin C) 500 mg once a day after breakfast for 30 days. Stay hydrated and drink 7 to 8 glasses of water daily. Please answer the following questions. Do you have recurrent episodes of the same? Do you have any drug history or drug allergies? Do you have a fever? Is the lesion painful? Please attach the clinical pictures of the lesion. Regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply. I applied the ointment and cream, and it started getting better. There was no itchiness for a few days. But today, suddenly, my lips and chin became itchy, and it has turned red and has a red bump. Why is it not going away? My chin feels like it is burning. I am worried that it is going to become dry and look like burnt skin. The inside of my lips is very itchy too.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I would suggest you to apply Nadibact (Nadifloxacin) cream twice daily for 10 days. Apply Lacto Calamine lotion twice daily for 10 days. Attach a clinical picture so that I can guide you further.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the reply. My lower lip is swollen and itching badly. Also, I feel my lips burning. What to do?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Take tablet Betnesol (Betamethasone) 5 mg once daily before breakfast for 5 days.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
