Dtpa Scan

DTPA scan derives its name from diethylenetriaminepentacetate, which is a radiotracer material used in the imaging test. It is injected intravenously, reaches the kidneys, and is excreted. During this process, a special camera detects gamma radiation to scan the kidneys and help in assessing their functions and disorders.
