Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 18-year-old male and have not gotten an erection easily for the last few days. Is it erectile dysfunction? Kindly suggest.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern. The reasons for erectile dysfunction (ED) are stress and depression. Other causes include varicocele which can be diagnosed with an ultrasound scrotum, fear of failure having one episode of ED once can make you feel you will end up with ED, low self-esteem (chronic masturbation), homosexuality – not attracted to the opposite sex, religious constraints, smoking and alcohol, hormonal issues such as thyroid, low testosterone, and increased prolactin, long term drug usage, and diabetes and hypertension. You need to undergo certain tests like Doppler penis, USG (ultrasound) pelvis and scrotum, blood pressure, RBS (random blood sugar), free T3 and T4, testosterone, and TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone). Kindly share more details regarding the above reasons, and we can work on diagnosis and treatment. It would be best if you planned for regular exercise and a proper diet.
The list of exercises must include the following-
Kegel, glute bridge, reclined butterfly pose, lying leg raise, plank, push up, squat, hip flexor lunge, swimming, running or fast walking for five minutes, and yoga.
Include strawberry, apple, avocado, sweet potato, sesame seed, almond, and garlic in your diet.
Thank you.
