Patient's Query

Hi,

I had bad contact care habits as a kid and slept in them through my high school years. And people told me not to, and being naive, I did not listen. Thinking the consequences would just skip out on me. Well, now, years later, I am dismissed from high school, and my eyes are now suffering the awaited consequences. The first and potentially most severe symptom is eye floaters. I see many of them, more than I should be, and they favor my left eye. After one second, they are not there, then I look around, and there are so many of them. The second symptom is my photosensitivity. It is like I see this little orb as I look down at the light, which is just not good. I know it is not. I do not want to go blind, and I am scared. I just want to know if there is something I can do to help my eyes heal or what I should do?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

From what you have described, you need to see an ophthalmologist. The description of seeing a halo or ring around lights tells me that your cornea (the black part of your eye) is swollen up. This is quite serious. The floaters in your eye are due to problems in the back portion of your eye and will need to be examined after dilatating drops are instilled. Stop using contact lenses and consult an ophthalmologist as soon as possible. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
