Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
My concern is that I sometimes have breathing problems at random times. I get really pale when I stand for longer durations and faint. I was being carried by a friend to a clinic, and I panicked and cried because I could not see anything. Everything was fine throughout the day after I rested. That day was a day after I recovered from a fever. Until now, I have breathing problems but not to the point where I faint or temporarily lose sight. Kindly advise on what it could be.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
This is likely an episode of presyncope. This occurs due to prolonged standing, especially in the sun, and factors that precipitate this are weakness, dehydration, and improper diet. All the above-mentioned factors lead to temporary lowering of blood pressure and all symptoms you had. So you need to take care to avoid dehydration and have a proper diet. Also, the persistent shortness of breath is likely due to weakness from your recent illness, which you should recover from in a week or two; if it persists, then better to get examined by a local doctor. I hope this helps you. Do get back if you have any doubts.
