Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 29-year-old female. My right fallopian tube is blocked, confirmed with an HSG test. I was told that it would not be an issue for pregnancy. It has been a year, and I have not been able to conceive. Should I seek help from a fertility specialist? I have a 6-year-old child, and getting pregnant with her was pretty fast and very unexpected. Sometimes during intercourse, I feel pain, and my doctor told me that it might be due to the previous chlamydia infection that I had. What could be the reason for delayed pregnancy?

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Chlamydia is a pelvic infection that, in the long term, can block tubes and could be the cause of infertility. Have you been completely treated for chlamydia? It is better to see an infertility specialist. Anyways I suggest the following.

1. Take Folic acid 0.4 mg daily after consulting your doctor.

2. Daily walk and exercise with yoga to have a balanced normal BMI (body mass index).

3. Have sex in the fertile period of the cycle or from day 8 to day 19 on alternate days for the irregular cycles.

Get rid of sexually transmitted diseases, as these can cause fertility issues. Use condoms to prevent transmission of sexually transmitted infections. Quit recreational drugs, as these can further add to infertility and cause a congenital anomaly. Suppose you have been applying the points mentioned above and still not getting pregnant instead of having one year of unprotected sexual intercourse. In that case, it is better to discuss things with an infertility specialist.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
