Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have seen your reports (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity), and it says you have a grade 1 fatty liver. The observation of a bright liver echo pattern on ultrasound is commonly considered a sign of hepatic steatosis. In easy words, it could be suggestive of mild fat deposition in the liver, termed fatty liver. Most likely, you have a non-alcoholic fatty liver (I would assume you are non-alcoholic).

As age increases, fat accumulates in various body parts, like blood vessels (atherosclerosis) or the liver (fatty liver). It is very natural and a part of a process called aging. However, in some patients, usually obese or sedentary, these changes may also occur early. The amount of fatty acid in the liver depends on the balance between the processes of delivery and removal. As the age increases, the number of transporter cells that carry fat from the liver to peripheral parts (for utilization decreases), causing increased deposition of these fatty acids in the liver. I suggest you consult a specialist doctor to rule out the cause of fatty changes at a young age. Do liver function test. If the test results are normal, I suggest you check your diet or take the following diet.

1. Whole grains are very beneficial to consume. These can be whole wheat bread, cereal, brown rice, and whole grain pasta. In addition, grains such as whole oats, wild rice, rye, oatmeal, and corn are also beneficial and can be taken if suits your food pattern.

2. Fruits and vegetables should be a significant part of any diet to help recover from liver disease. They are full of essential nutrients and are easy to digest.

3. Healthy proteins in the form of low-fat milk and dairy products, along with lean meats, beans, eggs, and soy products, can also be a part of a healthy liver diet.

4. Avoid red meat. Instead, try to switch over to a vegetarian diet.

5. Take antioxidants daily.

6. Silibinin (also known as silybin) is the major active constituent of Silymarin. It is a standardized milk thistle seeds extract containing a mixture of flavonolignans consisting of silibinin, iso silibinin, and others. It should be taken two times a day. It is a very potent liver regenerator and effective in maintaining liver health.

Thank you.
