Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been dealing with focal seizure activity on the right side of my brain. The strokes started 16 years back and I have been on medication for nearly four years. About seven years ago, the seizures stopped for a period of four years. However, this year, I have been experiencing random strokes every month. I am concerned about what is happening to me. Could you provide some insight? Additionally, I am curious to know if there is a possibility of complete cure for this condition. Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. I would like to know further details about your problem:

1. In which body part does the activity start and how does it proceed?

2. What did you feel during that time?

3. Do you remain conscious and aware of your surroundings during that time?

4. For how long does that activity continue?

5. If any eyewitness is available, what do other people see happening in your body at that time?

6. Have you ever taken treatment for these?

7. Are you currently taking any medicines?

Have you undergone investigations for this like MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) brain and EEG (electroencephalogram)?

If the focal seizures are occurring intermittently and have increased in frequency, then I would suggest that you need to start medicines for them. Also, I would suggest you get MRI brain with seizure protocol EEG.

Regarding follow-up:

Revert with the above-mentioned information and send previous medical records. Or you can visit the hospital or clinic in person for detailed evaluation and management.

I hope this helps you.

Thank you.

Regards.

Investigations to be done

I would suggest you get the following test done: MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) brain with seizure protocol. EEG (electroencephalogram).

Regarding follow up

Revert with the above-mentioned information and send previous medical records. Or you can visit to hospital or clinic in person for detailed evaluation and management.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
