Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I noticed two bumps around my pubic hairs close to each other after I shaved my pubic hairs. What is it and what is the cause of it?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

I went through the image (the attachment was removed to protect the patient's identity). It seems to be folliculitis which is a bacterial skin and soft tissue infection. However, I request you to kindly upload a few more good-quality images of the affected area so that I am able to have a better look at the skin lesions.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for your reply.

I am attaching a few more pictures of the lesion.

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It is folliculitis which is a bacterial skin and soft tissue infection. It can occur due to shaving of the pubic region. I suggest you apply a topical antibiotic ointment twice daily for seven days.

Kindly consult a specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medicines with their consent.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for your reply.

I am worried if it is herpes or any other sexually transmitted disease.

Please help.

Answered by Dr. Sushil Kakkar

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It does not look like herpes simplex virus infection (HSV). HSV usually presents with fluid-filled vesicles which soon rupture to form crusted lesions or erosions.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
