Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I have a dark red, flaky patch on my head. Should I be concerned about sun cancer?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Please answer the following questions. Are you a diabetic patient? Do you have any history of trauma in the head? Is the lesion painful to touch? Do you have bleeding or pus discharge? Did you do any hairstyle in recent days? Do you have a fever?
Patient's Query
Thank you doctor for the reply,
I am not a diabetic patient and do not have a history of trauma, fever, pain, or pus discharge. I did not do any hairstyle procedures. If I scratch my head, I have mild bleeding.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
From the images attached (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity), your symptoms are suggestive of folliculitis decalvans with atrophic scarring, tufted follicular papules, patchy alopecia in the frontal area. I suggest you (consult with a specialist doctor, talk with him or her and take medicines with their consent) to apply Mometasone Furoate cream once at night for 20 days. I suggest you to use anti-septic povidone iodine lotion or Mupirocine ointment for 20 days. Avoid scratching and rubbing of the lesions. Avoid sharing the razors. Follow up after 20 days. Do you have itching or burning sensation?

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
