Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I am a 54-year-old male. My height is 5"41, and my weight is 136.68 Lbs. Currently, I take Stamlo 5 twice a day and Eltroxin 50 mcg once daily. I have dry feet. I keep using foot care cream to make my feet look normal. My toenails seem to stick to the skin as they grow. I have attached the pictures for your reference. It occasionally pains while clipping the toenails.
Please help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern and will try to help you with it.
Hypothyroidism is a well-known cause of dry skin. Your nails in the photos (attachment removed to protect patient identity) look yellow, thickened, and detached from the nail bed. Are you itching on your feet?
It may be onychomycosis, a fungal infection of the nail. I would like to see the images of both feet, focusing on the nails. The differential diagnosis for this is xerosis.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reach out in case of further queries.
Thank you.
Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
Thank you for the reply.
I am not itching on the feet. I am attaching the top-view pictures of nails. There is no yellow color. It is partly pinkish white and partly dark.
Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I read and understand your concern.
I have reviewed the images (attachment removed to protect patient identity). You are having foot eczema. Old age and hypothyroidism are the precipitating factors for this xerosis. Apply Xerina cream (Glycolic acid) locally twice a day. As you are not having itching, no other medicine is required at present.
Looking forward to your response in order to help you.
Thank you.
