I get frequent urination with insomnia, weight loss, and blurred vision. Do I have diabetes?

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 26 years old. I had a few symptoms of diabetes at an early age (10 to 12 years old). I often urinate and feel excessive thirst. Now I am in a job. When I was on board the ship, sometimes I could not get enough rest, and sometimes no proper sleep. I also have a family history of diabetes. My father and grandfather also have diabetes. I uploaded my blood and urinalysis report. My current symptoms are frequent urination (especially at night, almost every 10 minutes I go to the bathroom), fatigue, insomnia (I cannot sleep properly at night due to frequent urination), weight loss, blurred vision, especially at night, slow healing wound especially in the feet areas, tingling in the hands or feet, dry and itchy skin, and erectile dysfunction. Sometimes I am also forgetful. Three years ago, the doctor advised me to take Metformin for a month once a day. I completed it for a month. But sometimes, I take Metformin once or twice a week for two years. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

The reports enclosed by you are normal (attachments removed to protect patient identity). Presently, you do not have diabetes. The symptoms you are experiencing can be due to your travel history. Try to avoid drinking water after 9 PM. Drink three liters of water during the daytime itself. I will add some multivitamins for the other symptoms you mentioned. Take it for a month. If you feel better, continue for a minimum of three months. You can follow up with me after that again. Do not worry. All your symptoms will get better with time. There is nothing clinically wrong, as per the reports. So, do not overthink it. I suggest you do an ophthalmologist consultation for decreased vision at night. I suggest you take tablets protein powder, two heaped tablespoons in one glass of milk daily with breakfast, capsule Nervup OD (Methylcobalamin, alpha lipoic acid, vitamin B6, and folic acid) once at night, after meals for 30 days, capsule Becosules plus (multivitamins) once at night, after meals for 30 days, and use Venusia cream (aloe vera, vitamin E, and squalene) for dry skin.

Hope this helps.

Regards.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks again. I searched in the pharmacy that you gave me a treatment plan, but all of these medicines are not available in our country. What is the best substitute medicine that you can give me aside from the medicine that you gave me? However, I gave my blood sample in a laboratory for blood work and urinalysis last week. Please check my results. And please do me a favor. What can you advise me about my latest laboratory results?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your query.

According to the reports, fasting blood sugar is borderline, and rest is normal. You can repeat your blood sugar levels in three months to check how you are doing. As per the medicines, I will share the content, you can buy whichever is available in your country. Take Methylcobalamin 1500 mcg, Nervup OD (alpha lipoic acid 100 mg, folic acid 1.5 mg, pyridoxine 3 mg), Becosules plus (all multivitamins and minerals A, D, E, B, calcium, potassium, manganese, zinc, copper, etc). Any 100 % protein powder (preferably of a medicine brand in your country) and any cream for dry skin (medicine brand, not OTC (over-the-counter) products).

Hope this helps.

Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
